MOTHER by Linda Ann Rentschler

Mother by Linda Ann Rentschler is a story of two women who shared same kind of grief from losing their mothers. How they struggle from the pain and how they comfort each other to cope up with it.

I bought this book from a book sale four months after my mama passed away. And after a year, I still don't have guts to finish reading it. Some of the lines make me weak and emotional, this book seemed to illustrate what I feel towards my mother death.

Here are some of the lines from it that struck me most:

"We are never ready to let go of our mother's hand, but her death shapes our hearts one last time. Without her, our love spills out in all directions, falling here and there, in the most unlikely places. Perhaps it is her greatest gift, to leave us aching for each other."

"The loss, invisible to others, was still completely evident..."

"I miss my mother - she confessed to the young woman, sounding like a lost child who accidentally wandered down the wrong aisle on shopping trip, or took the wrong hand in the crowd."

"I always know what kind of ice cream I want, but I don't have a clue what to do with the rest of my life."

"But saving time without a purpose was ungratifying as saving money without a goal. There was really no reward for it other than boredom."

"...as though the loss of your mother had removed every power you had acquired through her since infancy, your speech, the ability to stand, to hold your head erect, to keep your limbs from flailing out unpredictably, to guard against tumbling from a high place, hurting yourself."

"A college student with a a cheery disposition pushed off an emotional cliff. It would never be the same again, this life, this unprotected, abandoned young life."

"Her blue eyes seemed completely drowned in sorrow, lifeless except for the pain. The pain had a life of its own."

"I would love to see my mother, but I'm also afraid to see her."

"A wall had fallen on her, and it would probably be months before she could fine her way out of the dark."

"...remembering how she was unable to touch her mother's possession without collapsing face down into sorrow."

"...death as regretful, permanent separation from a loved one. Cathy preferred to believe that dead was not at any point be confused with gone."

"You cried at the good time, at the memories of struggles, and eventually you began to cry for all the days you've never had."

"It was so wonderful to be around someoone who knew the kind of pain she had battling these past five years."

"Yeah I stopped referring to her as dead. It sounds too depressing. My mother is in another realm."

As what I've said, I'm not yet finish reading this book. I'm needing more courage to face my weakness. So that's all for now.

General Luna's 2nd Album Teaser "Different Corners"

General Luna Band never fails to excite me. I've always been a fan of all-female bands, and GL has been my supreme idol when it comes to girls who rock on the music scene. Dazzling beauties plus exceptional talents, they will intensify your zeal for music. Their band and music became an inspiration to me to establish my own all-girl band (someday). They showed how woman shifted from just being rose among the thorns to being cream of the crop.

This 2012, the generals are going to release their second album "Different Corners" which made me so much keyed up to catch it soon. And this teaser add up some spice for more excitement. Lesgow and have a sneak peek of GL's newest album.

Doodle Art and Doodle Book

One thing I'm pond of, for sure, is making doodle art. It's a simplest form of art, all you need is a pen or pencil and a plain paper (or you can be creative and innovative in any way). Creating random drawings from scratch, leaving no space, colorful or just plain black and white, it doesn't matter anyway, just let your hands sketch random things from your mind and heart. A flower, dog, car, rainbow, sky, bear, monsters, shapes, anything, everything, even though it means nothing. That's how doodle works. You don't need to have a single and specific subject, it just come with a lot of objects. No rules, no instructions.

DOODLE refers to absent-minded scribblings, not conscious works of art that happen to be on a scrap of paper.

My very first doodle. The product of my boredom while in the Taxation class.

My second doodle. I made this one during our Retreat at Capuchin Retreat Center. My mind have lots of stuff then, and all I can do is either to take it down on my notes or express it through doodle art. And voila, this is what I've got!

My third doodle. I made this one as a present for my mommy in blogsphere. I want her to give something with my personal touch, and I'm so grateful she appreciate it :)

Last Christmas I have received a very awesome gift from my super best friend forever - a Doodle Book from Artwork. Wish really granted, thanks a lot sbff!

A Process and A Cycle

I was searching for an easy acoustic version/cover of John Mayer's "Love Song for No One" on Youtube, when fortunately I stumbled on one of his live concerts. Out of curiosity, I watched the video and guess what I've got - a love lesson. I love John Mayer's introduction, I shook my head and can't help to smile on every word he says.

Love, indeed, is a process and goes through a cycle. You have to step in one by one level, or else, you'll miss something in between. As our lives move on, we sometimes take for granted some things. Regrettably, we'll notice it when all came to an end. "You'll never know what you've got until it's gone" so they say. Time flies and feelings may change. We love and get hurt; these were all part of the love cycle. When pain sucks and tears seemed unstoppable, always think you're still in the process. When you're hover, don't worry so much cause sooner or later you'll get it over. What matters most is that you come up with a realization and learning - these will serve as keys to genuine happiness. Love story isn't about mere happiness and success, it comes with shadows that may perhaps appear in brighter days. Dilemma is just around the corner, waiting its perfect time to chase you. And if that happens what's next? You cross the bridge when you get there.

Actions speak louder than words, but words are very powerful. It's nice to show affections, but nothing feels better than hearing "I LOVE YOU" from someone special to you. Even though you're thousand miles apart, words make it up to you. Communication doesn't always mean connection, that's why sweet words somehow take a big part to bring and hold this connection together.

Potpot's Journal

Beyond every moment's drama and comedy.
Where stories after captured memories unfold.
This is everything what my blissful life brings.
What I see, think and feel in between's.
Where my unspoken thoughts reveal.
When my mouth can't say what I mean.
My stuff, my crap and my what about's.
The never before seen BEHIND THE SCENES.
